The September golf round is the last of the off-season rounds in Polk County, and the plan is the one that makes the week work around the final off-season tee.

Why the round works

The off-season tee sheets are the ones that are still empty, and the fall weather is the one that has arrived. The air is in the 70s before 8 a.m., the courses are empty, and the tee sheets are the ones that do not require a waiting list. The Club at Eaglebrooke is the one to play, a Ron Garl links-style design with over a hundred feet of elevation change and water in play on eleven holes, and in September it is the course that is still empty.

The 23 courses

Polk County has 23 courses within a fifteen-mile radius, which means a week in a house here is a golf week by default. You can play a different course every day of a week and not repeat one, and in September you can do it without a waiting list. The move is to book the tee times before you book the house, because the tee times are the scarce thing.

The week

Early morning on the course, back to the house by 10, a slow lunch at Cob & Pen, an afternoon on the lake, and a late dinner at Nineteen61. That is the day, and you can do it five of them. The houses we manage are a short drive from the courses, and the dock houses are the ones that make the post-round afternoon work.

The local tip: the September tee times are the last of the off-season tee times, and the off-season tee times are the ones that do not require a waiting list. Book the house early and the tee times will take care of themselves.

Send us your dates and your golf plan. We manage seven houses in the Lakeland area and we will match you to the one that is the right distance from the courses and the right size for your group.
