The shoulder season is the version of the season that has the winter weather and the off-season rates, and the move is the one that gets the winter price for the best weather.

Why the rates work

The off-season rate structure is the one that is still in place, and the fall weather is the one that has arrived. The lake is the same lake, the docks are the same docks, and the only difference is that the rates have not yet switched to the fall structure. The move is to book the September week before the rate switch, and the rate switch is the one that happens in the second half of the month.

The plan

Morning on the dock, a coffee at Black & Brew, a loaf from Born & Bread, a walk at Bonnet Springs Park, an afternoon that does not have to be planned, and a dinner at Cob & Pen or Nineteen61. That is the day, and you can do it five of them. The houses we manage all have the setup that makes a shoulder-season week work, a real kitchen, a real yard, and a real dock.

The move

The move is to book the week now, because the October weeks are the ones that start filling up, and the holiday show weeks are the ones that fill first. If the week includes a show at RP Funding Center, the dinner is the pre-show move and the house is the post-show one.

The local tip: the shoulder-season weeks are the ones that have the best rate for the best weather, and the best rate for the best weather is the one that does not require a budget conversation. Book the dock house first and the week will take care of itself.

Send us your dates and whether you want a dock. We manage seven houses on and around Lake Lakeland and we will match you to the one that is the right distance from the water and the right size for your group.
