April in Lakeland is the month the mornings are warm and the afternoons are slow, and the guide is the one that makes the month work.
The air is in the 70s, the dock is the front yard, and the boat morning is the good one. The water is warm enough that the dock is the thing you go to when the work is done, and the boat ramps are still empty because the summer crowds have not arrived.
The afternoon is the one that does not have to be planned. A walk at Bonnet Springs Park, a coffee at Black & Brew, a loaf from Born & Bread, and a nap. The houses we manage all have space, which in April means space to actually be in.
The April dinner scene is the good one. Cob & Pen does its late dinners, Nineteen61 does the reservation dinner, and Black & Brew does its breakfast the next morning. If the April week includes a show at RP Funding Center, the dinner is the pre-show move and the house is the post-show one.
The local tip: the April weeks are the transition weeks, and the transition weeks are the ones that have the best rate for the best weather. Book the dock house first and the week will take care of itself.
Send us your dates and whether you want a dock. We manage seven houses on and around Lake Lakeland and we will match you to the one that is the right distance from the water and the right size for your group.
