Spring break in Lakeland is the version of the holiday that does not require a beach, and the case for spending the break on the lake is the one that makes the trip worth it.

The case for the lake

The beach version of spring break is a parking lot, a line, and a $8 latte. The lake version is a house with a dock, a fast connection, and a coffee shop that serves actual food. The trade is the right one, and the lake is the 35,000-acre body of fresh water that is the third-largest in the state and, in the spring, mostly quiet.

The plan

Morning on the dock, a coffee at Black & Brew, a loaf from Born & Bread, a walk at Bonnet Springs Park, a dinner at Cob & Pen or Nineteen61, and a night on the dock. That is the day, and you can do it five of them. The houses we manage all have the setup that makes a spring break work, a real kitchen, a real yard, and a real dock.

The golf option

If your group includes a golfer, spring break is the middle of the Polk County golf season, and the tee sheets fill by phone. The Club at Eaglebrooke is the one everyone wants, and the move is to book the tee times before you book the house, because the tee times are the scarce thing.

The local tip: the spring break weeks fill early, and the spring break house rates are the ones that are still available. Book the house early and the rest will take care of itself.

Send us your dates and your group size. We manage seven houses in the Lakeland area and we will match you to the one that is the right size for a spring break and the right distance from the water.
